“location was excellent in view of the close proximity to the swimming pool and the activity centre”

The accommodation was perfect for us as the five bedrooms allowed our two granddaughters to have a bedroom each. Whilst there was not a view over one of the main lakes, the location was excellent in view of the close proximity to the swimming pool and the activity centre. The property was well cleaned and well equipped. There was a nice gesture with the small local produce welcome pack, particularly the loaf of bread. The main swimming pools are a good size and good temperature although we did stay there in the middle of a heat wave so not entirely surprising about the temperature. We had a couple of sessions on paddle boards which we hired from the activity centre and played tennis although to book the court a sign-up sheet appeared first thing on the Monday morning outside each court with hourly slots available for the coming week. The Lower Mill Estate web site was less clear on this implying that tennis sessions could be booked via the activity centre. There is a small shop on site but only stocks essentials. Suus responded very quickly to our various questions – Aug 2022 RH

We had a fabulous stay in this house, perfectly suited for a larger group. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, we were able to prepare some real feasts. Plenty of equipment and toys for the children. The views from the balcony were really wonderful, and the estate is a great place to stay, very relaxed but also plenty to do. Great house, fitted 10 of us (6 adults and 4 kids) comfortably. Really well equipped and a stone’s throw from the activity hub, restaurant and spa. The kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools, playing football on the MUGA pitch and the Mouse Trail. Suus was super helpful before the trip with a really clear guide on what we needed to do to get there and access the property and also with recommendations for the area, and especially after helping us locate my daughter’s lost bunny toy! – Jul 22 KO

‘This is our third stay there, and we were delighted, as ever’

We have just come back from another splendid weekend in Beaverbrook on the Lower Mill estate. This is our third stay there, and we were delighted, as ever. The house is beautifully furnished, with plenty of space and rooms if you are staying in a group. (However, because of Covid-restrictions, we were unable to do so on this occasion). The estate is just glorious, and we really enjoyed taking a leisurely walk around the lake, after spending the mornings in the swimming pool. We finished our walks with a drink at Balihoo – a perfect way to spend a weekend break! It really is such a wonderful place to stay, and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a laidback break with friends and family in beautiful surroundings.
